[Facts] Re: Arwa
in reply to a message by Jenni
To me it doesn't sound invented, because it doesn't sound trendy or trashy at all. I think it's an African name. I know an African name, Awa, who is close to it, but I don't know anything about it.
I've found the name Aroha, pretty close in prononciation...
Of course it could be a short form of Arwen, but I really don't think so.

Arwa is an Arab name, most commonly found in Yemen after a Queen that ruled in the 12th or 13th century.
my loving dughter name is arwa...
hi. my name is arwa. it is an arabic name. there was a queen of yemen way back when named arwa, also the muslim prophet muhamed, his aunt's name was arwa. the arabic spelling of my name is letters a-r-w-a , and it is a mythical animal akin to a mountain goat. there is also another spelling of the name arwa (in arabic) and it's roots come from water bearer/vessel.
