[Opinions] Chase on a girl?
Replies
I have known/known of 2 girls named Chase. I don't care for it on either sex, but esp. not on a girl. But I wish that parents who do use unisex names would clarify with the other name (fn or mn) as to the gender. For instance, Chase Mackenzie the girl could be Chase Madeline or Chase Mackenzie the boy could be Chase Matthew. Then at least those of us reading the BA's would be confused at first glance to their gender. LOL.

Not my style at all.
I don't care for it. But I also dislike the name on a boy. It always sounds like a command to me. Chase Mackenzie. Why is Mackenzie running away?
One of the female designers on Trading Spaces a few years ago was named Chase. And she was in her late 20s or so, so unless she changed her name later, her parents were way ahead of the times. I grew up with a girl named Tyler. We're in our early 30s now. Back when we were kids, Tyler was unheard of, even for boys. So it seemed weird because it was weird. Not because it was a boy's name. I wonder if that was true for Trading Spaces Chase too.

The designer's full name is Chayse Dacoda, and I think that's extremely unlikely to be the name she was born with. I can't find any reference to Dacoda as anyone's surname on Google except for this woman. I think she created "Chayse Dacoda" as a "designer" name to go along with her public persona.
Ditto you. I don't like it.
If they were set on using one unisex/boy name, they should have used a more feminine counterpoint. I dislike both names on their own anyway, though, and I don't like when names switch gender.
What are the convulsions of a city in comparison with the insurrections of the soul?
Man is a depth still greater than the people.

I think Chase is pretty for a girl.
I don't like it at all. I think of Chase Manhattan Bank when I hear it.
I don't like it all. I dislike boys' names given to girls and sirnames given to anyone.
I only like Mackenzie on a girl
I only like the name Chase on a boy
