[Opinions] Louisa/Luisa/Lucia
Lately I've been thinking about the name Louisa. WDYT? I prefer the "s" pronunciation over the "z" pronunciation (loo-EES-a vs. loo-EEZ-a). So my first question is:
1) Would you choose Luisa over Louisa in order to get this pronunciation?
2) Would it be too sing songy to have a daughter named Luisa which kind of rhymes with my name, Teresa?
3)Which do you prefer, Luisa or Lucia (loo-SEE-a)? I love both and can't decide.
4) MN Suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any comments!

Louisa is lovely. It's one of my favorite of my family names, and I'm considering it as an unofficial middle name (seeing as I don't have one). I use the Z pronounciation (I think, said it a few times and the Z hisses. 'Tis odd). And I like the Louisa spelling much better, it just looks so much better.
Louisa and Teresa are not singsongy at all, especially for different people and especially for non siblings. It doesn't even sound alike. It's fine, no one will notice.
And I can't decide between Louisa and Lucia. They're both on my favorites. I love them both. Don't make me pick.
Edit: I spelled between with double w's. Are there any words with double double-u's? Will that make it quad-u's? Are uw or wu triple u's?

Probably not. But then, Louisa is a family name, so I probably wouldn't mess with the spelling because of that. There's nothing wrong with Luisa, that's just my preference.
2) Would it be too sing songy to have a daughter named Luisa which kind of rhymes with my name, Teresa?
Maybe some people would think so, but I think it's perfectly fine. My name is Amelia and I want to name my daughter Cecilia or Ophelia. See? They rhyme! And if other people don't like it, too bad! It's none of their business.

Luisa. People would probably call Lucia "Loosh-ya".
4) MN Suggestions?
Ashley
Gabrielle
Charlotte
Caroline (the end is pronounced "line", not "lyn", which would be different and not a good match for Luisa/Louisa)
Ariel
Though it depends on her last name, of course. These could be totally bad.

1) Maybe. I still prefer the Louisa version, mostly because Luisa is more hispanic and italian, of which I am neither.
2) No, not at all.
3) Luisa. I do like Lucia, but I pronounce it Loo-sha.

Honestly, I don't hear enough of a difference between your Luisa and Louisa for it to matter to me. I see what you're saying, but it seems like such a fine point to me. I imagine you'd get both sounds no matter how it was spelled, depending on who was saying it.
I like the sound of Lucia A LOT more than Louisa/Luisa.
I think it's fine as a daughter to Theresa.

1) I like Louisa better, even for pronunciation.
2) It is a bit sing songy.
3) It'd pick Luisa
4) I'm bad with middle names, sorry!

1. Me personally? Yes, because when I see Louisa I think and say Z. When I see Luisa I think and say S.
2. Not at all. I wouldn't name a daughter Luisa Teresa but I don't think Luisa is so terribly similar to Teresa that they can't be members of the same family.
3. I prefer Lucia. I like Louisa and Luisa, just not as much as Lucia.
4. How 'bout: Marisol, Jasmine, Blythe, Rachel, Grace, Gretchen, Miriam, Isadora, Hyacinth, Danielle, Simone, Nicolette, Caroline, Francesca, Paulette, Chloe

I'd use Louisa because I just dislike the look of Luisa. It's been my experience that when Louisa is lazily pronounced, you get the loo-EE-sah prn anyway. I knew a girl my freshman year whose name was Louisa, and everyone pronounced her name loo-EE-sah.
I don't think anyone would really even notice that your name rhymes with your daughter's.
I much prefer Luisa.
