[Opinions] Knonsense
I had a reel come up on Facebook and it was a family announcing the name of their new baby and listing the names they considered, but didn't use. All the names started with Kn- and were either N names with a random K added or just a random N word with a random K added. There were several other kids as well, so I had to know all the names and it was so cringey.
Starting out the parents are named Nick and Keeundra and apparently decided their kids all needed Kn- names. They also called themselves a Knation.
Oldest daughter: Knixia
Second daughter: Knaomi
First son: Knight
Third daughter: Knatural
Second son: Knowledge
Third son: Knoah - this is the one they were announcing
Other names they considered for Knoah:
Knature
Knoel
Knile
Knorth
Knote
Knick
Knoble
Why?

Why? They basically told you their motive when the said they "call themselves a Knation."
Just like many other parents who begin all their children's names with the same initial letter or sound, they believe this will help create solidarity among their children and make their family a more cohesive unit. And using "Kn" links in their mind with both parents' names, so gives them both a symbolic link to their children.
There were 61 boys named Knight, 20 named Knoah, and 187 named Knowledge born in the USA in 2023. Though none of their girl's names were given to five or more in the USA in 2023, there were at least five girls born that year named Knavi, Knightley, Knightly, Knoelle, Knola, Knori, Knova, Knovah, Knowledge, Knox, Knoxlee, Knoxleigh, Knoxley, Knoxly, Knoxlynn, Knyla, and Knylah. Any alternative way to spell a sound in English is going to be used by some parents to create new spellings of names.

I'm surprised this is a thing. Knight is the only one I can begin to understand. Knowledge? KnaturaL? Knaomi? Knixia? I'm sorry, but no.
I know a large family with a Blue Sky, a Gohd, and an Infinite. Maybe large families are reverting to strange names.

I’m surprised they haven’t used Knox. At least that one is legit.
I see what they did there: (K)eeundra and (N)ick. Themes don't bother me, but this one doesn't include many names that I'd actually use.
Nixia, Naomi, Nile, North, Nick, Noel and Noble would have been fine on their own. They technically have two Nicks in their family, but I guess Knick might be less embarrassing than Nick Jr...?
I'll accept Knoble because it's a surname that I saw many years ago, and my eyes have adjusted to it.
I like Knight because it's a familiar surname and it sounds strong.
Knick reminds me of knick-knacks - better on a character than on a person. The New York Knicks association was not my initial thought, nor do I really mind it.
Knowledge is a heavy name to carry, but it's wonderful as a word. I prefer Wisdom as a name and as a word, though.
Note doesn't sound or feel like a name.
Nature is not as good as an actual nature name.

I really like Knowledge as a name. And Knight is alright. They could have used Knox or Knute (or Knewt?), I guess. I feel like the proper kn* words don't fit with the others. And why didn't they consider Knoll or Knell instead of Knoel...I don't like knoll or knell as names particularly, but they'd seem less hokey...
I wonder if Nixia (Knixia) was chosen as a feminization of Nick but then for whatever reason the mom wanted to share initials. And they thought it was such an amazing idea they had to keep up the pattern. This reminds me a little of how people keep turning Dr* into Jr*; I think first it was for Jream but now it can be any Dr* name. Jrew, Jrake...

You got me scared, that they named a child Knonsense
It’d fit the theme. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did name one Knonsense.
