[Opinions] What names are on your mind lately?
Hey ya'll, I'm not dead. Grad school is just time consuming and hard. I'm a little bit dead inside. Lighten my mood by telling me all about the names on your mind lately. Names you like. Name you question. Whichever. Go nuts 😆 the only stipulation is you have to explain Why it's been on your mind. I'll share later. Please rate my "Names I would Use" list & "Backup Favorites" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you have the time.

I've been adding medieval names to my PNL, and some I've been thinking of are:Alfonce
Elinant
Galfrid
Leonis
ZyprianEngelais
Finvola
Linot
Miralda
YsabeauSome of them aren't necessarily medieval, but have a nice ring in a fantasy world.
Hey, hey😉I'm not a writer, and I'm not into reading fantasy. However, I'm in the mood for fantasy names — names, that I categorize as fantasy. They are Anglo-Saxon, Welsh, Slavic...Ælfwynn
Ailith
Angharad
Arianrhod
Elisiv
Mezamir
Ithiel
Ardagast
Hrafn
IthamarI need names that start with 'I,' so here are some I've gathered, sometimes from obscure sources and geography:Ilma
Ilmer
Isma
YeniséiHere are some additional 'I' names:Isamir
IscraHere are names of people I've met; I never favored these names, but they just stuck with me:Leon - I've always preferred Leo, I still do
DomingoI love unusual names, especially those, that are uncommon in my PNL, as I lack names starting with Sh, T, and U:Shama
Tanvi
UrmilaI love female Egyptian mythology names that end in -t. Just imagine them as four sisters! 😁Unuket
Imentet
Mehet-weret
Naunet
Carmela! My Italian grandmother's name was Carmella/Carmel, but she died when I was very little, so I have no memories of her. I find the name lovely and lilting despite being freighted with the cultural connotation of mob wives. I've also been thinking a lot about Ingeborg because I'm reading Ingeborg Bachmann's sole novel, Malina. I love how bulky the name sounds in English.
Coyote, Stefani, and Ignacio have been floating around in my mind lately. Weird names for me, not normally up my alley.
Lyle: from Lyle, Lyle CrocodileEdith: from Downton AbbeyMachi: from The Lost Souls of BenzaitenNarantsetseg: from behindthenameJust free space in my head lately:
Amethyst
Gay
DickShinku and Kanaria: from Rozen MaidenMostly various names from various story mediums that I've consumed lately. Gay and Dick will always be guilty pleasures for me, because you really can't use them today unless its for a story. Amethyst, I just like the sound.
I met an Amethyst once as well! In Florida. I was tickled pink I was so excited. We didn't talk long though. She was maybe in her 30s or 40s I believe.Edit: I'm misremembering. It was actually Amaryllis that I am thinking of. Close in uniqueness and similarlity but no cigar.

I once met a woman named Gay. It May have been Gaye with an E, I can't remember for sure. She was born to hippies during the 1960s and it was supposed to be in association with happiness as opposed to homosexuality. I wonder what her feelings are about her name? I wonder if it has had an impact on her social views? I used to work in geriatrics and have also known a few Dicks. Interesting to see in person as they will soon be extinct I imagine. Like seeing the last Tasmanian tiger.
