[Opinions] Thatcher
Last night, I dreamt of two people named Thatcher & Phoebe. I don't recall much of the dream other than the fact they were close friends and that these were the names mentioned.
Thatcher certainly surprised me. It's not a name I'd ever thought of before or seen mentioned anywhere, in fiction or reality.
Thoughts on either?

No.
Maggie.
Ding dong the Witch is dead.
In the UK there is absolutely no way you'd dodge the Maggie T associations and she's rightly divisive and (imho) rightly disliked in many circles. It would scream a certain kind of political leaning. And really, being that outright with our politics and lumping our kids with it is something that we like to think we're a bit less blatant about in the UK (or rather, used to be...)
I dislike Phoebe quite a bit. Less than Thatcher, but that's a low bar.

I'm not super fond of occupation names, but Thatcher isn't bad. It's good honest work, and it is fresher than Carter or Sailor. It reminds me of the Tom Sawyer character Becky Thatcher and the British politician Margaret Thatcher, but it could work on either gender.
I like Thatcher quite a bit, reminds me of Fletcher which is also a name I'm quite fond of. I'm one of maybe three name nerds who actually likes surname-first names so Thatcher appeals to me a lot. I only wouldn't use it because of its association with Margaret Thatcher, but as somebody who isn't from the UK/Ireland I feel that's a connection I can mostly ignore.
Phoebe is okay. Feels kind of kitschy and doesn't read as particularly timeless, but it's interesting and quirky.

Phoebe ās ok, Thatcher reminds me too much of Margaret Thatcher.
Margaret Thatcher, former prime minister of the UK? I was never a fan, though I do like Margaret.
The only Phoebe I've known is now a trans young man called Adrian. Of the two names, I far prefer Adrian.
