[Opinions] BA - Mona Lisa
Replies
A book I encountered as a child featured a character with this name, and it was used to demonstrate the character's quirky family.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the names themselves, though I don't love either individually, but the association with the painting is so strong that I don't see it being usable.
But I mean if the kid goes by Mona, whatever. It's fine.

My Cousin Vinny had Marisa Tomei who did a great job as Mona Lisa who went by Lisa.
I don't like how it's associated with the painting.
The name itself is pretty, but I dislike how associated it is with the painting.
I named a duck Mona Lisa as a teenager. She was Moe for short. Her sisters were Kimberly "Kimi" and Stacey. It's kind of a guilty pleasure but I doubt I would be tempted to use it IRL. But I have definitely read worse in my local paper. One little girl was named "Lemon" a couple years ago 🫠🫠 so I mean.. ya know its fine compared to a lot of things. I'd rather be a painting than a car or a random made up modern name, for instance 😅
I do think it is cute for what it's worth. If a little too on the nose is all
