[Opinions] Lewis and Louis
Lewis & Louis were a sister and brother in my workplace today. Lewis was in her first year at secondary school so 11/12 years old and Louis at a guess was 7/8 years old. WDYT of Lewis? Would you use it for a girl? WDYT of Louis?Don’t take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from

No, I wouldn't use Lewis for a girl. But I guess since Lewis is a placename, it could sound unisex theoretically. The Isle of Lewis has a different etymology than Louis, at least. The names themselves are ok. I pronounce Louis as loo-ee (or lwee? seems nearly the same to me) normally too. I had a uncle named Louis.Lewis seems a little more surnamey to me than Louis.

Both are masculine. Little Ms Lewis has got a long life full of explanations ahead of her. I pronounce Lewis with two syllables: LOOiss. Louis gets the French pronunciation, more like LWEE, which is why I'd only ever consider using Lewis.
That's crazy the parents would name them Lewis and Louis. It's the same name! Lewis for a girl is just cruel.
I pronounce those exactly the same. Was one pronounced loo-ee? Either way, way too close for siblings and not I'm not a big fan of the name, especially the Lewis spelling. I definitely wouldn't use it on a girl. If I wanted that name for a girl, I'd use a feminine version like Louise, Louisa, or Luisa.
Yes Louis was pronounced Loo-ee.
Was Louis pronounced like Lou-ee? If not, then their names would be pronounced the same.
Yes Louis was pronounced Lou-ee.
Lewis is nice for a boy only and to have siblings with such similar names is crazy
