It has never appealed to me. It sounds whiny and annoying, and reminds me of capricho, the Spanish word for "whim, desire", so it goes back to Caprice.
Caprice is one of few names (along with Chastity) that I genuinely consider sexist. Caprices are changeable impulses, and the implication is that women are capricious, erratic, and unreliable.
I remember about 20 years ago, there was a character named Caprice in a story I liked. I thought it was neat. It vaguely reminds me of the Muses.I think it's sort of between Cadence and Vanity on the word name spectrum - similar to Whimsy or Breeze but sounds nicer. Or similar to Waverly. I'd rather be named Caprice than Chanel, Legend, Echo, Candy, Spirit, Hunter, London, Scarlett, Paisley, Braxton, Lydia...I think it could be unisex. Maurice, Patrice, Caprice...
I imagine a guy who wears cool shoes.

I love the idea of a boy Caprice.
I think it's kind of nice. But I see that's not popular opinion.
It's not one of my favorites, but I'm surprised by the negative reaction. I don't think it's THAT bad, lol.
My mom once had a student with this name. I remember thinking it was sooooo cool when I was about 14. It gives me some fun peppy bubblegum teen nostalgia because of that association; it's breezy and young. It also makes me think of a character from an old-timey movie, like a mobster's moll or something, and I love that.
Unsuitable as a name for a human, and not much good for an animal either.
If we were to ignore the meaning I think it has a pretty sound. Same with Capri.
I don't think it's a very attractive name, either in sound or in meaning as a word name. Caprice means a whim, and as a name it makes me think of a stripper's stage name, or some parent giving it to their kid without really understanding the meaning but thinking it's more like Joy or Miracle.
Also, in ye olden days before they all started using SUV's, the Chevy Caprice was a popular model for police cars.
Don't like it at all
I hate it, sorry. The word's a bit pejorative, and the name feels tacky. Clarice is far lovelier.
