It’s painfully boring—I grew up with countless girls named Sarah. It’s much better as a middle name. Eglantine Sarah, anyone?

I second this. Sarah sounds splendid as a middle name, especially when paired with uncommon first names: Marguerite Sarah, Genevieve Sarah, Amethyst Sarah...
