[Opinions] Zara usage: U.S. or U.K.?
Could Zara be a name that would fit being used in U.S., or should it stay used in the U.K.?

I'm actually surprised it hasn't cracked the top 100 in the US yet. It follows many characteristics - short, modern, spunky initial, similar looking/sounding names (Sara, Zariah, Zuri...), brand name...
I feel the exact same! I love it for all the same reasons. Only thing I can think of is some might be thinking of the store.
I really associate it with the store at this point.
It works perfectly fine for both.
I don't see why it wouldn't be used in the US. Only drawback is I'm not sure how to pronounce it, Zahr-a or Zair-A. Probably it's either way. But that kind of ambiguity is a dealbreaker for me.
BtN only lists ZAHR-uh as a pronunciation.
It's a dog name in my area (in Canada), which means I think it would do just fine as a person name, too. I don't see why not.
Pretty acceptable anywhere, I think. There are certainly a few Zara people here in South Africa too.
Yes and popular in Australia too
It's already quite popular in the US by my standards. If you count the percent of use that Zara, Zahra, Zaria, Zariah, Zariyah get in the US as one, then it'd rank about #65 (Zara is the most popular of those individually, at #236, right below Vivienne). Zaire and Zyaire are also in the top 1000, as masculine. And there's more spellings in use like Zahrah, Zarah, Zaara, Xara, Zaira + other similar names (2 syllable and starting with Z or ending with *ra) that are popular.

I think it’s fine in either country. It’s short, easy to spell and say, it’s a pretty name.
I think it sounds like something that would be trendy in the US. Its short and easy to spell. I personally like it.
I think Zara is a pretty name and would be fine in the US.
