[Opinions] Re: Top 10 for September! (ETA: ten-year comparison)
in reply to a message by Wordsmith
A bit late to the party again - haven't been on this site in a while! Anyway, here are my Top 10 for September:
Adrian
Donovan
Finn
Isaac
Malcolm
Nicholas
Richard
Thomas
Tobias
Wesley
&
Arielle*
Ava
Cassandra*
Celeste
Hazel
Lorelei
Maxine
Miranda
Sabrina
Violet
Thomas, Celeste, Hazel, and Maxine replaced Asa, Helena, Ruby*, and Ursula. Honorable mentions go to Guinevere and Rebecca, which were on my list in the interim. (Names with asterisks are ones I can't use in real life, at least not as first names).
Ten years ago, these were my Top 10 combos:
Avery Charles
Dominic Valentine
Edmund Hugh
Graham Elliott
Hunter Leland
Malcolm Emory
Nicholas Owen
Richard Everett
Wesley Bennett
William Heath
&
Anastasia Maris
Chloe Vivienne
Elena Penelope
Elizabeth Arielle
Josephine Adele
Julia Clarisse
Lara Morgana
Leila Miranda
Lindsay Marian
Vanessa Rosamunde
Already, my masculine taste was pretty solidified, though I didn't remember having Avery on the list. Vanessa is the biggest surprise on my feminine list, because while Vanessa checks a lot of boxes for what I like in a name, I've often found her to sound... well, mean. Something about "Vanessa" sounds like she eats people alive. (And no, I don't know why I spelled Rosamund with an E.) I have to say, I'm not fond of several of those feminine combos.
