[Opinions] Georgiana, Aurelia, Helena or Celeste for a girl?
Replies
In order of my preference:
Celeste (like)
Helena (it's okay)
Georgiana (neutral
Aurelia (neutral)

Helena is my favorite, and I love it. I would still prefer Helen though
Aurelia is pretty
Georgiana is a name I might consider for a middle name(grandfather is named George), but I prefer Georgia
Celeste-I like it

Out of these four, I'd prefer Celeste, nn Sally. And I'd never choose Aurelia. Georgiana and Helena are problems! I don't enjoy either one, but I'd happily use or consider using Georgina (probably as a mn) and Helen (in any position). And I'd rather use Georgina or Helen than Celeste.
Why, thank you! But, I'm not the genius. I had a colleague years ago whose name was Celeste. She hated it with the white-hot passion of an exploding galaxy, thought her parents were horrendously sentimental, and would only answer to Sally. Her mother was an author who perpetrated large numbers of teenage novels, all set in girls' schools and full of positive messages for the crazy, mixed-up young. So, one does see Sally's point.
"hated it with the white-hot passion of an exploding galaxy" so poetic I kind of want to save this 😆
Did she ever elaborate why she didn't like it specifically? Just curious
She wasn't remotely sentimental, and in her perception the name Celeste was, and so were the people who chose it. That was all she ever said.
I like Aurelia and Helena, very personal biases though.
Honestly I like all of those. They are all beautiful and classical to me without being overused. My favorite is probably Georgiana.. I like the Jane Austen connection. If I were to have daughters named only G names then one of the girls would probably be Georgiana.
