Goodness. I didn't even think about exploding stars ... it's all Latin adjective to me, and therefore nothing but female (or neuter plural, though that's not likely for a name).

Really? My mind goes straight to the NOVA documentary series. It gives intense "parents are sci-fi nerds" vibes to me.
This is the first time I've heard of 'the NOVA documentary series', so it's not surprising that I didn't think of it!
