[Opinions] Mary Jules
What do you think of this name?

It's nice but could be better. Jules has a way more modern vibe than Mary. Mary Julia is prettier and makes more sense, even if it is more predictable.
Love Mary. Don't understand what Jules is doing standing next to it. That's a mismatch.
As a combo, it's ludicrous. Mary is lovely and should start reappearing quite soon: it's been in abeyance for long enough. Jules could I suppose be a nn for something like Julia or Juliet or Juliana, but to me it just says Verne.
It's an interesting combo. I don't hate it, but it feels a bit off to me - I guess because it seems sorta Catholic, like the way Mary Frances or something is, but Jules feels nicknamey. So it's kind of nicknamey and bumpkin-y as well, but in an unexpected way. It's less like Mary Lou than, say, Mary Pam or Mary Jenn. There's also the fact that Jules is a male french name, but it's not Marie Jules, it's Mary Jules. It's mixed up. This feels like the kind of name my family would have picked 100 years ago, when they were trying to shed their Frenchness and become plain ol' Canadian but they weren't quite sure how, so they ended up with names like Frank Pierre and Marie Joan. Mary Jules is pretty cute, I like it. It sounds nice.
I do have a friend who named her little girl Mary. I imagine it is going to be a lot less common to that generation and they may think different about it being plain or ordinary. Certainly a name that will be around for a long time. I personally don't like it but I think we tend to like names we don't hear as much. I love the name Evelyn. There are so many young ones right now. My mom does not like it at all. She likely would have had a grand baby with the name if it wasn't so popular
Mary is plain and Jules is masculine, prefer Julia or Juliet
I'm not sure I've ever seen it before, but I get such a strong impression that it seems as if I'd seen it somewhere on a fictional character, one who is stuck up/stern/prissy/pious/smug. Don't let Mary Jules catch you breaking any rules.More generally it just sounds kind of princessy to me. I can't say why other than just, Mary double name (religiousy and can seem precious), combined with the Jules thing that is both nicknamey and a bit masculine, which gives me kind of a self-consciously brassy vibe like a girl named James. Sorry for the negativity if you like it. It's not objectively bad of course and I'm not trying to discourage you. But it hits me wrong.
I like Mary but Jules is a French MALE name so I'm not a fan of it in the middle. I think Mary Jewel would be better.
Mary is so boring and Jules sounds like a nickname.
