It feels very cartoonish to me, kind of tawdry. I picked up a used book the other day, a murder thriller that sounded pretty decent, but the moment I read that the main character female detective's name was "Nikita" I was immediately struck with something like secondhand embarrassment for the author. Suddenly the entire book felt cheap and silly. Nikita on a girl has that aura to me. A smutty dark fantasy guilty pleasure beach read kind of name.
