Catherine or Katherine - Katharine is actually my favorite, followed by Catherine.
Liliana or Lilyana - Liliana.
Madeline or Madelyn - Madeleine, though Madeline between these two. Madelyn looks like an American bastardization.
John or Jon - John is the only acceptable spelling as a given name. Jon as a nickname for Jonathan.
Vivian or Vivienne - Either, though probably Vivian. (Vivien is my favorite here.)
Sophia or Sofia - Either, though probably Sophia, depending on cultural background.
Julia or Giulia - Julia, definitely.
Briana or Brianna - Brianna, though I don't care for either.
Elliott or Eliot - Split the difference with Elliot.
Brian or Bryan - Either, though I dislike this name intensely.
Elizabeth or Elisabeth - Either, though Elizabeth.
Ann or Anne - Definitely Anne.
Calliope or Kalliope - Calliope is much more aesthetically pleasing, I think. (It was also the first spelling I encountered, actually - I'm pretty sure Calliope predated Kalliope on this website.)
