[Opinions] Thoughts on the name Ashley for a girl?
What are your thoughts on Ashley?

Ashley is one of those 90s/2000s classics to me. I like it but I prefer Ash by itself, Asher, or Avery/Averie.
I have always thought that it was a pretty name for a girl! I know this might be a stretch, but I also like the spelling Ashleigh for it (Though, I much prefer Ashley)!
It’s a bit dated to the 80s but it’s not a bad name. I prefer this spelling to Ashlie, Ashlee, and Ashleigh.
It's a little dated. I prefer it for a boy.Girl combos:Ashley Genevieve
Ashley Guinevere
Ashley Madeleine
Ashley Ragnhild
Ashley Roxelana
Ashley Bernadina
Ashley Shizuko
Ashley Jaehaera
It’s okay, but it’s not the most attractive name, imo.
Boring and dated.
Yes, I agree.
It's dated, but I still like it
I prefer Ashleigh or Ashlea for a girl, but dated
It used to be my top choice and if Valerie had suited just a bit better, our daughter would be Ashley. It's not a top favorite now, but I still really like it, and it makes a nice mn too.
Painfully dated.
I taught a Chinese girl once whose English teacher in Hong Kong had given her Susannah as her Western name; her brother got Stephen and was quite cool with it, but she never felt like a Susannah. When they arrived in South Africa they were staying with some of her father's employees, and one of them suggested Ashley as an alternative. She loved the sound and the look of it, and eagerly asked me what I thought. I didn't tell her! Instead, I said that if she felt comfortable with it, then she should certainly drop Susannah and go for it. She did, and lived happily ever after, to my knowledge at least. I did have to reassure her that it had nothing to do with, as she said, burnt things! She liked the idea of a stretch of land with pretty trees growing on it, so that ended happily.I haven't seen a young Ashley for a long time; can't say I miss them.
Of a moment, and that moment has blessedly passed.I don't dislike the name for a boy, ironically, but I knew/knew of so many people named Ashley / Ashlee / Ashleigh (primarily the first, though at least one of the others) that it's worn out its welcome.
A little dated, but still nice.
