Don't like it at all

Uh, no - unoFishel.

One of the most unattractive names, if you can call it a first name. It’s perfectly fine as a last name of course.

I'm showing my age, I suppose but I immediately associate it with Danielle Fishel, aka Topanga on Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World.

Which is to say, not a fan as a first name. The word "Fish" is deeply unappealing as name in my opinion.

It doesn't really sound like a name to me, except maybe a stereotypical Old Country name in a Jewish stand-up act in the 1950s.
It sounds more like either a cutesy Internet-baby-talk way of saying official, or maybe like a gross processed fish product.

Absolutely love the meaning. I prefer Fisher personally.

I don't like it, only as a surname

I'd rather not have "fish" in a name. I don't think it's an attractive sound.

Greg Fishel was a popular meteorologist for a TV station in Raleigh NC where he worked for 38 years. So, I have a fond association with the name. Also "little fish" is a nice meaning.
