[Opinions] Thoughts on these girl names briefly in the US top 1000?
Replies
Love Rhianna, like Jalisa.
It reminds me of that too!
Dayanara: I think of Orange is the New Black... not a bad name and I see why somebody else may use it but its not my type quite frankly.
Jalisa: I prefer Janessa.
January: Not bad, not particular good either. January is a pretty mid month outside of New Years. I'd rather a classic name like May, June, April, or even August for a girl (Short for Augusta). For a more eccentric choice? September or March. Names in other languages are also pretty like Avril, or Abril. Otherwise January is a solid 6.5/10.
Karma: It's kinda pretty. I would likely never use it but it has a crisp and cool sound to it.
Nira: It's alright.
Rhianna: I like this. I think of the singer. Unobjectionable name that is known without being too common.
Spring: At any given I would use this as a middle name. I used to know a kid named Spree, that was the closest to Spring I ever got. And he was a boy. Though ironically I see Spring on a boy more than I see it on a girl, lol. I like Aviva much more. Aviv for an equally unisex name.
Velvet: Sure. I'll name their sister Silk too.
Yuridia: Pass.
Jalisa: I prefer Janessa.

Rhianna - I like this a lot, especially as Rhianna and Rhiana. I also like Riana and Rianna. But I feel like it's not usable anymore, as it has become a bit of a one-person's name, kind of like Madonna. Even when spelled differently.
January - I feel like she would become Jan or Jannie which are both okay, but kind of bland. It's also a pretty gloomy month, even though I don't dislike it. Most people seem to.
Karma - I believe in it, but I wouldn't use it as a name.
Nira - don't really like the way this sounds.
Spring - love the meaning, but the sound isn't great.
Velvet - this sounds fine. I like it, but not enough to use.
Yuridia - sounds abrupt to me.
Jalisa - I prefer Alisa. Jalisa doesn't sound nice to me and I dislike Jal as a nickname.
Dayanara - reminds me of sayonara. It's not great sound-wise.

I hate Karma! I like Rhianna and Velvet
I agree with you on all of these!
Rhianna is ok, don't like the others
The only one I didn't spontaneously laugh at is Rhianna, which is not as good as Rhiannon but a whole lot better than Dayanara, Jalisa, Yuridia ... people in the US seem to enjoy month and season names, so January and Spring are quite mainstream compared to the rest. But not to my taste.
How many of these are in the top 1000? I've been studying the current list quite a bit, and I don't remember seeing any of these.
Oh, sorry, I meant of all time.
