Benjamin and Jonathan are both names I'd use in real life. Nicholas is fine but not one I'd use. I only like Theodore because you can get the nn Ted from it.
Nicholas - a good, steady name; Nick and Colin are good nns
Benjamin - family name, and Ben is a good nn
Jonathan - all right in its way: seems flabby to me. Could shorten nicely to Jon.
Theodore - not to my taste, and nor is Theo

Theodore > Jonathan > Benjamin > Nicholas
I strongly prefer Theodore, but none of these are bad! The other three are pretty equal to each other.

Nicholas is probably my favorite masculine name. Meanwhile, Benjamin is a name I've always strongly disliked. I don't mind the "Ben" nickname (though I've known many Bens in my life), but something about the full name Benjamin has never, ever appealed to me. I far prefer Bennett.
