[Opinions] Beverly

I enjoy Beverly immensely, though I don't think it'll "come back" as long as Everly is trending. (Everly basically replaced it in the popularity charts.)
While I like both, Everly has a slight edge, imo. I maintain that I liked Everly before it was cool (before it hit the Top 1000).

I think of Beverly Crusher and then Beverly Hills. I prefer Everly.
I immediately think of it as a girl name but the more I look at it, the more masculine Beverly / Beverley looks.
Apparently Beverly peaked in the 30's, but my mental image of Beverly is in the 50's or 60's. I guess most of the Beverlys were young adults in the 50's.

Family name. Very familiar with it after long acquaintence, don't dislike it, but still would not use it. It's so much better than the awful Everly, though. Have always seen Beverly as a given name and Beverley as a surname.
I heartily dislike Everly; looks like a fake adverb.
I've never seen Beverly used here in South Africa; I've known a few Beverley people. I don't like it enough to consider using it at all, but I don't dislike it either, which is quite surprising in view of one particular Beverley who married a very good friend and messed him around seriously. Similarly, Kimberley always ends in -ey here, though I've never seen it as a human name. It is the name of a diamond-mining town which has run out of diamonds.

Beverly to me is like the Brittany or Mackenzie or Harper of the WWII era. I don't care for it. Always reminds me of beverages and belly.
I'd spell it Beverly. Beverley looks like Berkeley and seems even less of a personal-name.
Everly at least does not have the datedness. I just don't care for how it's shaped like a word, yet isn't - like it means "in an ever manner"
I like the ev sound a lot more than the bev, however. I'd rather see a girl named Evren or Everett, than either Beverly or Everly. Come to think of it, I'd actually rather Everly be spelled Everley, if I had to make that choice.

While it has never been a favourite of mine, I have been liking it since I was a child. It's pleasant and cosy, and my first association is the loving matriarch from The Goldbergs.
I see it making a comeback, not soon, though. But I think it blends in well with other names. Beverly is my preferred spelling; Beverley is extra, but I certainly prefer both over Everly.

I think it falls into several trends:
1. -ley sound names
2. Vintage names
3. It sounds like Everly.

I used to really hate it, but after getting used to it, it sounds nice. I find with a lot of names that might seem old lady-ish or dated seem a lot nicer after you warm up to them. I would spell it Beverly, though I don't have too strong an opinion on the spelling. I don't think it's quite ready for a comeback, though it could happen in a few decades. Plenty of once dated names regain popularity and seem modern again. By then, though, the -ly trend in names might have gotten old. I guess we'll have to wait and see! In comparison to Everly, this may be an unpopular opinion but I like both. I do prefer Everly, however I find Beverly to have more character.
I think it will make a comeback. Beverly is better than Everly.
I like it.
I prefer the Beverley spelling because the name originates from the surname which in turn came from the Yorkshire town. Beverly is from the American place name Beverly Hills in California. It was originally a male name.
I don't know if it's ready for a comeback as Everly seems to be the popular go to name at the moment.

Beverly too dated
Everly too trendy
Everly too trendy
I find Beverly dated and in my opinion, also comes across as cold and detached, like a woman who comes from old money or who just isn't very pleasant unless it serves her. No idea how I came up with these images, but that's what I think of every time whenever I see or hear the name.
I much prefer Everly. I like that ev sound over bev and it also sounds more friendly. It's about the only modern and super trendy name I can tolerate.

Same opinion on Everly
Not ready for a comeback. Reminds me of the tv series.
I definitely prefer it to Everly! I admire Beverly's oafishness a lot—she's not trying to be beautiful and so manages to radiate charm.
I prefer the Beverly spelling.
