Help[Opinions] Odd Flow?
Here is a sib set I found online and maybe it’s just me but something seems off with the flow maybe a little odd child out. There are 26 years between the eldest and youngest children so it could just be a case of changing times, changing tastes. WDYT?

My storytelling would be: they were young when they married, and used the first names they thought of for their first two children, or named them after family members.
As time went on, they either used the names of friends and family members, or just names that were familiar (Alfred, Edith, Catherine).
But by the time Mona was born, they'd been adults for longer, and had seen a lot more people, and more children with fashionable names. Maybe they'd moved house to a new area. And times were changing. And they had run out of honoring names. So they started using more fashionable names.
I don't see a flow problem or odd child problem, myself.
I like Edith, Doris, and Gordon. I think Norman and Gordon make good twin names.

I'm not seeing any oddness here. Just that Norman and Gordon have a bit of a weird semi-rhyme thing going on. None of the names seems out of its time.
Norman and Gordon rhyme. That's the only problem I have with the set. I wouldn't use Horace, Sherman, Maurice, Florian, Dorian, Herman because of their similarities to Norman. I didn't realize that Doris rhymed with it either, because the children are years apart. Not to mention, Gordon comes off as less old fashioned than all the other names. Norman should have been kept and Gordon could have been replaced with:

The first thing I noticed was the four names with a shared sound: Doris, Lorna, Norman and Gordon. The "or" sound was popular in the past but it's not considered attractive to modern parents today.
The first five children have pretty traditional and classic names. Then we get to Mona which does not suit the style of the family. Robert belongs with the older children.
I think the parents started on the traditional name path but then decided to go with names that were trendy for that time (Mona plus the last five children). To me, Eva is an outlier because it's more "exotic" than the others.
