Not my thing.
Douglas is a fine, solid name. I'm not sure about Dougie as a nickname. I think Douglas is distinguished enough not to need a nickname.I can imagine a Douglas having siblings with names like Fraser, Campbell, Graham, Stuart, Monroe, Greer, Ian, Kenneth, Malcolm, Cameron, Archie, Mackenzie, Catriona, Maisie, Blair, Arran, Marjorie, Lennox, Maclean, Eilidh, Moray, Wallace, Stirling, Paisley, Grant, Iona, Craig, Kyle, Leslie, Rhona, Ainsley, Scott, Harris, Macaulay, Isla, Murray, Lorne, Keith, Ross, Morven and Ailsa.
I can only now associate this name with the YouTuber "DougDoug" but I don't think it's a bad name. Maybe a touch dated but otherwise alright. It sounds friendly and unassuming.
I hate it (respectfully lol) Dated and not in a classic way
Hate the "ugg" sound.

Douglas is handsome; I hate Doug.
I like Douglas. It's very official and mature, even having an honorable namesake. I dislike its NNs in general but am not opposed to them being used. I have not heard any great alternatives so I can't complain. I like the Dug spelling because it reminds me of Dig Dug. It takes me back.
I like it very much; I'm mildly disappointed, because the only Douglas I know has named his sons Joshua, William, Benjamin and maybe someone else. Real production-line stuff.
This was my late father in laws name and he in turn was named after one of his uncles. Father in law was known as Dougie pronounced Doogee. I really like Douglas and Ian Douglas is a double middle name husband and I are talking about.
Another name that would be super cute on a baby or toddler because it would be so unexpected nowadays. I fell in love with the name Douglas a few years ago - I had to write it down many times because I was cataloguing some old documents that included a lot of people named this. Also "Dougie" is adorable.
Good name. One of those solid, dependable names.
I think that Douglas is a very handsome name! Doug is a cute nickname for Douglas, in my opinion.
