[Opinions] Re: What do you think of the era when your name was peak?

Countries vary. It's rising in France and Italy, and it's in the top 10 in Mexico. In Scotland, it peaked in 1983 and fell out of the top 100 in 2002.
It's been in the US top 50 from 1987 to present - drifting between #16 and #28 most of that time but has been falling since the pandemic. The highest percent used was in 1993, but it ranked highest in 1998 and 1999.
Things that were happening in the 90s...I was a toddler, then in elementary school...the Soviet Union was dissolved, Nelson Mandela was released from prison, the Lebanese Civil War ended, the Gulf War and the Bosnian War, NAFTA, the Oslo Accords, computers were becoming household items, there were no cell phones, drugs to treat AIDS were developed, the prison industrial complex was on the rise, postmodernism, the supernatural (witches, vampires, demons, aliens) and disaster romances (like Titanic, Armageddon) were popular in TV/movies, grunge and shoegaze were a thing...Lisa Frank + Power Rangers + the Spice Girls + Xena + The Matrix + the Chicago Bulls were a thing...the Los Angeles riots, the Waco massacre, the Oklahoma City bombing, the Columbine shooting...
Seems like a lot of turmoil. False starts, festering wounds, growing pains, building bridges, crumbling walls. Enterprising expansion and innovation. Last years of a bygone millennium. Sparkly, neon, gritty, whimsical, ethereal, stark, globalized, decadent, shabby, goofy, industrial, awesome, mindbending.
