[Opinions] Maybelle
I’m watching an episode of Poirot on tv this morning and one of the characters is called Maybelle. WDYT of Maybelle? Do you prefer it more or less than Mabel?Don’t take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from

I think Maybelle is very pretty and sweet. I pronounce it May-bell, so different to Mabel. I do prefer the simpler Mabel though, which I find delightfully retro and cute. Maybelle for a mn for a baby girl born in May would be too cute for words though!
I like Mabel more, but I do like Maybelle. I know a little Maybelle who is about 7.
I think that Maybelle is pretty, but I prefer the name Mabel.
Far better then Mabel, just the pronunciation. Chef's kiss.
I like it lately.
It's more sunny and open than Mabel.
Mabel is more syrupy and sleek.
I much prefer Mabel, because Maybelle to me looks like it sounds like May-Belle, which I don't like. Maybelle seems more like a cow name, but subtler Mabel is more suited to a person with its vintage charm. All that being said, I don't hate Maybelle, but it's not what I would call my favourite
I like it more than Mabel but probably wouldn't use it because it seems overdecorated and too sweet.
I don’t like Mabel and I like Maybelle even less. Mabel is extremely old fashioned and dated while Maybelle reminds of a brassy and rude matriarch of a large family from the south. I read a book one time where a character named Maybelle was just that.
I prefer Mabel to Maybelle. Maybelle is very Southern to me. The country singing Carter Family had a matriarch named Maybelle. Of course, her daughter June Carter married the legendary Johnny Cash and the rest is history.
I quite enjoy Mabel; pleasantly vintage. Maybelle, however, is too close to the eye makeup brand - Maybelline - and looks like fake French. I'm sure Poirot's little grey cells would bristle at the sight and sound of it!
Better than Mabel, still don't really like it
