No doubt she'd hate Denis even more. I prefer it to Dennis, simply because I had a good friend at uni with the Denis spelling. Serious, pleasant, intelligent - all the right things. And if you're looking for a slimy name, look no further than Simon.

I agree, Simon is another one that I hate. She didn't mention the spelling, just said the name.

The Denis’s I know pronounce their name like Denise. I think it’s a Turkish name?

Here Dennis is just like Denis.

Where I live, it's just a spelling variation. Denise is surely the French fem version, which would make Denis itself French.
