[Opinions] How does the process of associating a name with a specific age group?
People usually associate names like "Barbara" and "Myrtle" with older people, and names like "Madison" and "Avery" with younger people. And I notice that some English names actually make local people feel younger or older than they think. How does the process of associating certain names with certain age groups work? And how much is that influenced by culture?

It’s just based on the changing popularity of various names. Myrtle is a good example: there were loads of Myrtles born in the first half of the 20th century and almost none in the second half. No one my age was named Myrtle, so if I saw the name I would assume the bearer was much older or much younger than me.
Thank you.
