I always want to pronounce it juh-BEZ. Also apparently the story of the Biblical Jabez is now commonly used by Evangelicals as justification for the heresy that is Prosperity Gospel. So it might conjure up associations of greed, hypocrisy and fascism and assumptions about those who chose the name.

Jabez is a cool name. It would be interesting to meet one irl. Jay is an ok nickname, maybe I could warm up to Bez, it would certainly stand out anyway.

Always kind of liked it.

Ok, this is a very silly post, but Jabez was one of my favourite names for years!! I came across it while I was working in the archives of the Freemasons. It's so dramatic.

I've never heard of the name, but I think it's super cool!
