[Opinions] Re: Dorcas and Doris

Dorcas is so Old New England. I love it for that. It's straight out of a witch trial. It's the kind of name you really don't see anywhere else! Dorcas isn't really dorky for me. Cursed, maybe. Dorcas has a darkness, but in a nice way. Dorcas makes me think of humble flowers, maybe because it remind me of "crocus". It's a very poetic name.
I wonder if Dorcas is doubly doomed because it has not only "dork" but also "ass" in there (I know it's not pronounced the same way as the word, but people are silly). But then, the similarity dangerous "Titus" is gaining in popularity, so why not Dorcas?!
I love Doris. I think it's friendly, warm, but also very competent and sensible. I would feel in good hands with a Doris. I also love that it's a name from mythology and has such an interesting oceanic basis. I think Dorothy is making a comeback, so perhaps Doris might not be far behind!
