[Opinions] Re: Exavier
in reply to a message by )(
I wouldn't chose that spelling personally, but it's close enough to the etymology of the name. The name was popularized as a first name by Saint Francis Xavier, founder of the Jesuits. He was born into the town of Javier (or Xavier) in Navarre. The town is called Xabier in Basque, which derives from the long form Etxeberri or 'new house'. It became Xavier in Navarro-Aragonese and Javier in Spanish.Don't hesitate to rate my different PNLs: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/246179
