WDYT of Joan?

I used to love Joan. It's pretty, a great history, and some amazing name.
Unfortunately I've come across a very unpleassant one and it's ruined the name for me.

I like it. It's warm but also tough. I love Joanie as well.
I like Joan, though I feel like I'm in the minority. The nickname Joanie is cute.
I love Joan. I associate it primarily with Old Hollywood, so it's pert, snappy, brassy, and even a bit plangent to me.
Joan is a pretty name; it wouldn’t be my first pick, but it alludes classic enchantment.
Don't like it, prefer Joanna
Loved this name when I was a teen in the early to mid-2000's. It just hit right for some reason. Short, but really packed a punch. Had some staying power in only 4 letters, something that Jane could never do for me. While my enthusiasm has softened a bit for it since then, it's no longer in my Top 15, I still carry a nostalgic fondness for it.
Joan is OK. Third in line, after Jane and Jean. I prefer Joanna (as in Give Me Hope, Joanna) and would probably prefer Johanna (as in Pictures of Johanna) but where I live it instantly indicates an Afrikaans speaker, which would cause endless confusion.
Oops! Should be Visions of Johanna. May St Bob forgive me.
