I think it really depends on the intials and context. Like if it's in honor of a person (using their intials) it's okay to plan a name around that. If it ends up in a "oh look at that" moment and what they are it can be a cute quirk (like my husband's intials are MRS!). My now last name starts with an S so of course we were trying to avoid things like A.S.S. in naming our children but overall, it is what it is. Mine ended up being ALS after I got married.
