[Opinions] Is the name Roald too associated with Roald Dahl
I guess in a way it is because he's the only famous bearer with that name I guess he's up there with Prince, Cher, Beyoncé, Usher, Ciara, Zendaya etc.

I think it’s associated but not to the level your examples would be.But considering I find the name a little clumsy to say, its kinda a good thing people would recognize the connection imo
there's also Roald Amundsen ...But Roald just looks like a mistyped Ronald. That's what I thought it was for a long time when I was a kid.
maybe, but he's not a bad namesake.

It's Scandinavian in general, to me anyway. I would expect a Roald to be, if not Scandinavian himself, then of Scandinavian descent. And I'd also expect him to have a lot of trouble with people who thought his name should have been Ronald and tried to correct the typo.
I suppose, but just as strongly, I associate it with Roald Amundsen, the Norwegian explorer who was a key figure of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.
But Amundsen is not the first thing people think of when they hear the name Roald it's Dahl
I barely know who Dahl is - the name seems familiar because I know some of his more famous stories like Matilda, but I had to look up who he was. I think of a couple YA fantasy (Tamara Pierce) book characters named it and nothing else, apart from how it seems vaguely like Rory, Raul, Harold.

And? I feel like you're pressing your opinion here.
