Yves Theodosius McBryar (25)
Yves grew up in a rough neighborhood of southern Chicago. After losing his brother Rawdon to gun violence at the age of 16, he decided to start invsting in businesses in order to make it out of the projects. He moved to the countryside, to a safer community, becoming an owner and manager of several bars and cannabis dispensaries all across Illinois. He decided to invite his friends and family to his house for Thanksgiving.

Yves' girlfriend of 3 years
Cat met Yves while she was working as a real estate agent in rural Illinois and selling him his house that he lives in now. They had a lot in common especially the desire to move to a safer community. Cat grew up in Detroit with a single mom and her grandmother as they battled poverty and kept a close knit family. She is still working as a real estate agent in the area and lives just five minutes away. She arrives with sweet potatoe casserole.

Akira Merlyn McWeldon-Shiratori (they/fae; 24) - Cat's best friend
Akira and Cat didn't meet until Cat moved into the area, although Akira grew up there. Their family being firmly middle class, Akira was raised by their two dads and grew up attending pride parades. Having always been a bit of a "tomboyish" child, it came as no surprise to anyone, least of all faer dads, when fae came out as nonbinary a few years ago. Akira owns and runs their own dance studio, making sure that all of their students have a safe place to be themselves. Instead of a traditional Thanksgiving food, fae brought a dish that faer Japanese dad loves: cabbage pancakes.

Karam Zaman (24) is Akira's girlfriend of six months, and a close friend of Cat and Yves. She was born in Michigan but moved to Illinois for college. Karam was an urban studies & planning major and currently works at a local women and children's shelter. One day, she hopes to open a housing project for unhoused LGBTQ+ people. Karam's hobbies include fashion and music. She has 6 siblings, and her big brother is a photographer who she often models for. Karam has been friends with Cat since they were kids, and she helped introduce her to Yves.

Ayoub Zaman (19) is Karam's younger brother. He traveled from Michigan to stay with his sister specifically for Thanksgiving, as he hasn't met her in the past year. He's currently running a vintage shop in Flint, Michigan, with his girlfriend. He's bringing the dessert: his girlfriend's Pistacchio Tiramisu

Tirzah "Titi" Abbatiani (19), Ayoub's girlfriend, considers herself a bit of a fashionista with a major passion for all things vintage (hence the shop she runs with Ayoub) and/or bright and colorful. An only child raised by her grandmother, Titi's grandma spoils her with all the financial help she could ask for, including with the shop when they have a slow month and need a little help with the rent. Titi met Ayoub in one of their shared classes at their local community college. In addition to her Pistacchio Tiramisu (a recipe she altered from her grandma's traditional tiramisu for her purposes), Titi brought a carafe of her grandma's special espresso and some homemade biscotti that she had Ayoub help her make.

Karla is Titi's therapist. A kind woman, Karla went to school for psychology in the 1990's. During the Vietnamese War, Karla's father escaped draft by becoming a teacher. Her dad gained mental health problems from guilt of not feeling brave and fighting for the country. This inspired Karla to help. She now is a wonderful humanitarian. For thanksgiving, Karla is making a sweet potato pie with her family.
