[Opinions] Re: Gavin and Raven wdyt?

Gavin (pron GAVin) is one of those names that are associated with an older generation of chavs where I'm from, and that's not seen as a good thing. The tl;dr is that chavs are anti-social people who typically dress in sportswear. They are associated with violent tendencies, alcohol and drugs. Gav (and Gavin) is one of those stereotypical names, like how Cletus is a stereotyped name in America
So, where I'm looking, Gavin is such an ugly, rough, brutish name by default and I can't see beyond it, the association is too high.
For a girl? Ugly as sin, sorry
GAYvin does not sound attractive either, but I won't be able to read it as GAYvin and not GAVin, like I read Barry as BAR-ree and not BER-ree. I'd ultimately prefer a different spelling overall
Raven, on the other hand, is pretty in a low-effort gothic way. I love the name Raven though

That's interesting, and hilarious. The only Gavin I ever knew, and that only slightly, is the brother of an old friend who became a medical doctor and relocated to England!
