[Opinions] Maddalena
What do you think of this Italian cognate of Magdalena? I searched for bearers of the name on Wikipedia and was delightfully surprised by the number of medieval artists and noblewomen; in light of this, I find it quite refined and poetic. Do you think it's too evocative of the Maddie scourge that (hopefully) we're recovering from (here in the U.S., at least)?

If you are called Maddalena in the US I think everyone would try to call you Maddie or Maddy. Or maybe Mads. If that was my name I'd introduce myself as Lena.
Madalena looks cleaner to me overall. The double d takes up a lot of space.
I like these:
Maddalena Luisa
Maddalena Iris
Maddalena Sibyl
Maddalena Sigrid
Maddalena Cosima
and:
Maddalena Silvia - but I think Silva or Sylva would work better here
Maddalena Ingrid
these are a lot softer:
Maddalena Cecilia
Maddalena Constance
And:
Maddalena Rose
Maddalena Diana
Maddalena Scarlet
Maddalena Iseult
Maddalena Helene
Maddalena Vivian
Maddalena Hazel
Maddalena Willa
Maddalena Opal
Maddalena Violetta

It's very witchy, which I enjoy. It's hard to combo for me, I'm not sure why? Maybe because it's one of those rare names that seems complete all on its own and a middle name just adds clutter.
Maddalena Iris comes close to working, I think the sleekness of Iris looks good with the dark Maddalena.
