Shay being a nickname for Shane is right there and yet I've never made the connection haha I love that!

And it totally works. 😁 I even named one of my main characters in my trilogy series Shane, who often goes by Shay as a nickname. I also think it could work as a nn to Seamus.

I don’t really have any preferences regarding the number of syllables. There are an equal amount of one syllable names and three/four syllable names I love.
