Honestly, neither. Both are perfectly fine and respectable names. I suppose Violet? But neither of these are my style of name.

Violet always makes me think of “violent” — don’t know why. Lauen is very sweet. For flower or plant names, I prefer Rose, Lily, or Ivy 🥰

I am a Lauren and always found my name so boring. My daughter is actually Violet as well, so of course that would get my vote.

Violet without a shadow of doubt

Violet. It's pretty and bold while Lauren is boring and dated. I like the sound of Lauren but not the associations.

Lauren. Both of them seem boring, but Violet sounds potentially annoying and Lauren doesn't. If she thinks her name is dowdy, she can assert her independence by pretending her name is Wren or something modern when she goes to middle school.

I much prefer Lauren to Violet, because I think that Lauren is gorgeous; I have two in my extended family, but I think I'd still use it. Lauren is definitely less common than Violet, nowadays!

Violet. Lauren is dull.

Lauren. Violet is too close sounding and spelling to violent.

Lauren. More interesting, less used.

Violet. Neither are really my thing, but Lauren is dated to around the 80s to me, but Violet seems more timeless. And V names are always kinda lively and spunky.
