Help[Opinions] Elise and Lauren
Thanks to those of you who gave suggestions for a sibling to go with Claire. I am still working on my list of possible choices, but I would like opinions on two names I have always liked.
Elise and Lauren
What do you think of each name? Do they go well with Claire? What middle names would you suggest? Do the names flow with the last name Provancha (Pro-van-cha)?
I would like a name that is short and sweet, yet spunky (like Claire) and ages well. I am not too worried about popularity. I know Lauren is very high on the popularity lists, but in my experiences in teaching and substitute teaching, I have not seen very many Laurens. Names like Ava, Ella, Makenna, Hayley, Isabelle, Olivia, Madison are far more common. I would rather have something more classic than trendy. Looking forward to your responses.

I LOVE Elise! It's a classic, timeless name that ages very well. Claire and Elise is a terrific sibset, and Elise Provancha sounds wonderful.
I can't stand Lauren. It manages to sound extremely trendy and extremely dated at the same time, and is so tired and overdone. I don't think of it as classic whatsoever. I think of it as a name that spikes suddenly and then falls just as suddenly. I also find it ugly, sorry.

Well my name is Elise and I prefer it to Lauren because Lauren is so darn common! It is a lovely name, but there are so many Laurens, Lauras and Laurels around. Elise isn't that common, and although I used to hate it, I have really started to like it and think it is quite spunky and quirky. I think both Elise and Lauren sound good as a sibset, but seeing as my cousin who I have grown up with is called Claire, Claire and Elise just seem to fit to me!

I think that both names are nice. I know sisters who are named Elise and Lauren, so I think they go together well, and they seem to fit with Claire.

I love the name Elise as a first name or middle name, Lauren is ok but not something I'd use (for personal reasons) I think they bith sound good with Claire though.

If you're looking for a short and spunky name, I think Lauren is better than Elise. Elise seems more formal and old-fashioned to me, and I think Lauren sounds better with your ln. I have met *plenty* of Laurens, and I constantly get called Lauren because my name is so similar (I'm still not sure if one of the teachers I've had all year knows that my name is *not* Lauren). What about Lauren Elise?

Thanks for the response. Lauren Elise is my top combo for Lauren at the moment. I like both names, so it is a nice way to use both. I am just having a hard time deciding if I like Lauren better than Elise. Thanks again for your suggestions. I'm sorry that you have been called the wrong name, I love the name Laura,, but I can't use it because it is my cousin's name.

Elise and Lauren are 2 of my favorite girls names. I prefer the spelling Elyse tho. All of the names sound good with your last name.
