[Opinions] Honey
What are your thoughts on the name Honey for a girl? Too sweet and sugary? Too much a term of endearment?

It doesn’t bother me at all. Very sweet name, yes it’s also a term of endearment, but none of that worries me.

It’s a dog or cat name to me.

Only for a pet

Not the biggest fan, and I do basically see it as a term of endearment and not much else. To me its like naming a girl Cherie, which isn't unheard of, but not my style.

Well, it's sugary and a term of endearment, which I assume is what people like about it, so it's hard to say it's too much that. But yes, I have met one and find it awkward to call a strange adult that IRL.

Too much of a term of endearment as a stand alone name. I'd be OK with it as a nn (Honor, Melissa, Deborah, etc.) though. I do like Honeycomb and Honeysuckle as a GP middle names. :0)

Too much of all of that and sticky food. It's sickly sweet, it sounds like using a term of endearment, like giving your kid a name like Baby, Sweetie, Cutie-Pie, Sugar, Kiddo are not a real name and a real identity.

I really like it. It’s a gp of mine, but I’d only ever use it on either a pet or for a character in a story.

This is a guilty pleasure name of mine. I think of Korean model Honey Lee and Big Hero 6 character Honey Lemon so I have nothing but good associations.I would be tempted to use this as a name but definitely wouldn’t choose this as a first name because “honey pot” is modern slang for a woman’s reproductive part. Probably not even as a middle name.Interestingly, someone commented on this site that their legal name at birth was Honey Jane Bear or something like that.

Ick. I don't even especially like being called Honey myself, even by relatives.
As a full name it seems cheap, and also thoughtless, like they couldn't come up with a name and just called her Honey and ended up sticking with it; at least it would be better than just calling her Baby or Kiddo or The Little Girl.
