[Opinions] Re: Katie and Katrina

Katie is a little girl in a gingham dress and pigtails or mean girl, I think all Katies eventually become Kates or Kats or Katherines. Katrina is hot red lipstick, fuchsia nails, skintight leopard leggings and a big blond bouffant. Katie is either very sweet or laughs behind her hand at you, Katrina tells you exactly what she thinks even if you don't want to hear it. Katie ignores you because she's rather be studying or hates you because you both liked the same boy when you were fourteen, Katrina is either a hot mess or the woman who lives fearlessly in her pleather leggings and loud perfume.
What I'm trying to say is... Katie is girlish, both naively and immaturely. I actually have known very sweet adult women who go by Katie now I think about it, but that's my first instinct. I don't think I've ever known a Katrina and yet I have a very specific mental image for a Katrina, I think I've painted it well enough and it's quite a concrete image for the name - even though I have no idea where it's come from. Katrina is loud and confident and brash and bold and maybe not sophisticated, she's a bit retro, a bit (heavy quotes) "trashy" or "chaotic" and she has no regrets (that she will admit to) - that's the impression Katrina leaves with me. Lots of red lippy and blonde hair dye and stories of nights out, she smells like cigarettes and perfume from the 80s and she's the 'Work Mum' you tell your kids stories about twenty years later. Yeah, Katrina has heavy 'Chaotic Work Mum' vibes to me. If that sounds like a bad association, I don't mean it to - I've known (and continue to know) and adored (and continue to adore) a few women like the aforementioned, just none of them have been called Katrina, although maybe they should have been.
Of the two I like Katrina more, I'd be happy for a Katrina to take me under her wing. Katie is a bit... eh.
