[Opinions] Atalanta
My daughter has been listening to a podcast about Greek mythology (Greeking Out - it's really good). One of her favorite stories is about Atalanta. She decided to name her cat Atalanta.
Thoughts? I love it. Penelope and Persephone are gaining in popularity, why not Atalanta?

I think Atalanta is not as popular because it is clunkier. I like it, it would make an interesting middle name. Attie or Tally could be cute nicknames.
Over-ambitious for a human, but certainly fine for felines. If I went that route, I'd tweak the name to Catalanta, but that's just me.
That would have been fabulous. I actually call her Atty Batty most of the time, as she's still a kitten and quite insane.
When it came to naming her I knew we'd end up in an argument. I decided to head that off by suggesting we name her something from Greek mythology. I was thinking Cleo or Gaia, something simple. My daughter went with Atalanta and that has stayed. And this cat fits the name to a t. She's a hunter's, she's super fast, she has no fear whatsoever, and she knows exactly what she wants.

She sounds delightful, regardless of name!
Don't really like it, but ok for cat
