For all of 19-year-old Lord Cassian Featherstone's bad decisions(and there are a lot), this oughta be the worst. Why, just WHY, out of all people, would Cassian marry a poor woman, and a FOREIGNER, at that! His parents are so distraught, they nearly disown him. 17-year-old Aikaterine Theophania DeRoy, who is supposedly visiting family, according to the story she told her grandmother, is a poor Greek woman who recently immigrated to Cassian's country. Having very little money, she took a job as a tailor, which offered very little pay, just enough to give her a home and keep her alive. She was in the service of one of the best tailors in the village, the place where wealthy people go to get her clothes. That's how she met Cassian. At first, the two were friends, and then they become lovers. About a few years later, they got married, though Cassian's parents disapproved deeply. Aikaterine came to live with Cassian in his family's gothic-style manor, where they lived together, and a couple of years later, had 3 children: Hendric, Julius(of "Julie" to annoy him), and little Callista, who usually went by Callie. Each having varied and colorful personalities, the children were a lot to handle, but they were always bringers of jollity.
