I love it! When I was about 14 a new girl came to my school, and I was told her name was Roxanne, which I thought was sooo cool. I was crushed to find out her name was actually Roseanne. Roxanne will always have that bright shiny teenager cool nostalgia for me.This was also my grandmother's favourite name when SHE was a teenager. She was pregnant the same time as her own mother (crazy right) and she kept pressuring her mom to name her new baby Roxanne, because her husband had vetoed it for their child! Sadly, nobody was named Roxanne.

It's my middle name. I like it pretty well, though I don't much care for the Police song called "Roxanne." That's actually where my mother got the name from.

This name rocks! I like it very much, it sounds strong and it's really charismatic to me. I like the -x- in the middle too.

I love the name Roxanne so much, and it’s very special to me. I prefer it as a first name, but it makes a beautiful middle name as well! Roxy and Annie are great nicknames. I think that if I had a daughter today, Roxanne would be a top contender. I don’t care about all of the song associations. Roxanna is also another wonderful, more unique option.

Roxanne…. You don’t have to put on the red light….Yeah I think of The Police song. And also the more recent Roxanne who the artist name passes me. Both songs I like though.Anyways, to the name itself Roxanne I would give a 7/10. It’s definitely a little more middle name-y. The meaning is nice, but something about it doesn’t make me like it to it’s full potential. I’m not sure I like how it’s rox then ANNE it feels like smashing something rough into something a little more delicate? Idk. But I love Roxana. If I were forced to use it I would use these as a middle/first. Roxy is a cute nickname.Roxanne Eunice

I don't think of Cyrano de Bergerac or Police (excellent band, btw); I think of how, back in the distant day, every hotel that wasn't actually falling over was The Grand Hotel and every small-town or suburban cinema was The Roxy. Also, Rock or Rocky doesn't appeal as a nn. I'd prefer Rosanne, if pushed.

It's ok

It’s ok. Roxanne seems like a middle name, whereas Roxana (which I prefer) seems more appealing. I like the meaning and Roxy is a cool nickname.
