[Opinions] Valentine

No. Valentine is a boy, doesn't work well on a girl. Girl's version is Valentina.
I think of the name Valentine as masculine, like Valentino, Valentin, or like Constantine or Augustine or even Marcus. Seems very Roman and maybe even a little pompous. Valentine for a girl seems sort of like Anthony for a girl instead of Antonia. There's no real reason an Antonia couldn't be an Anthony, but it's attention-grabbing because not what I am used to.
Since it's not Valentina, my mind looks for things that would make it seem more of a stereotypical "feminine" image, and what it finds is Valentine's Day. So - I guess this is lame, but it's what seems to happen - it evokes Valentine's Day to me. Heart-shaped cards that say "be my Valentine." Chocolates and red roses. So I feel like it's vaguely like an endearment-name, like Dove or Honey ... anyway I feel like it's sort of a word name, in a way that Valentina is not.
Anyway, it's alright, I don't really mind it. Just not one I like. I like it as a masculine name a lot better.
If it were in common use as a feminine name, like Caroline, I think I'd like it a lot more.

Sorry don't like it
It would be beautiful if it wasn't a holiday. It sounds kinda weird to me for that reason.
Too romantic by far in the weeks leading up to February 14. Especially if it's pronounced with a -tyne, not a -teen. If at all, I'd use it as a mn.
