As a little kid, Melody used to be my favorite girl name. I still think that Melody is a very pretty name.

I think Melody is sweet and cute, but not too cutesy for a grown woman.

I love it. I think it is so pretty.

I like it. It's a nice sound and meaning.

It's too "wordy" for my liking. That said, I have a soft spot for Mélodie (mostly because it reminds me of Elodie).

As Mel names go, I prefer Melanie. Melody is rather trite, like Allegra and most music names; Carol escapes through sheer familiarity.

I taught a class once who were amazed and excited to learn that their names had meanings! One girl was hopping up and down in her eagerness to know what her names meant. She was Melody Miller, and clearly hadn't given the matter much thought.

Way better than Harmony. It’s fine, Mel is a sweet nickname.
