I think it’s terrible even if you aren’t Christian. Just use Lucy at this point.

Then I wouldn’t pick something that lends itself to the nickname Lucy so easily.

You said that your boyfriend is planning on using the nickname Lucy if Lucifer was used, so you would be hearing Lucy regardless. Why consider a name with a planned nickname that you hate?
