Especially when combined with Hartley, it's treacly and tooth-ache inducing.

In theory, Love is no different than other virtues: Hope, Faith, Joy, etc. I don't know if it is because Love as a name isn't as common or established, but my initial reaction is not positive. It just feels saccharine and cheesy.

Honestly not that bad, it's just a straightforward virtue name like Hope/Faith/Honor/etc. Love and H(e)artly as siblings is a tad cheesy though..

I think it’s sweet but also super cheesy. I know a couple that their daughters middle name is Love and she also kind of a little snob… lol.
My grandma had a sister named Lovey. Very odd. I’ve never heard of anybody else named that… never met her that I remember, but was quite an odd name for someone born in the 1930’s, whose siblings and/or cousins were named Thelma, Darlene, Wilma, etc.

Tragic as a name, lovely is even worse.

Love is at best a kind of tacky middle name. At worst, an extremely unfortunate, overly sweet, overly wordy first name.

I hope Love doesn't grow up to marry a guy named Joe.

With the sibling Hartley (hart... heart), and without the You influence, my first impression would be that the parents were some kind of neo-yuppie-hippies, or something.

I kind of agree with Sprout. The form of Louis would be more interesting. But the English word love doesn't so much sound like a name. It doesn't match Hartley either. It would've worked better with another name that just so happens to be a surname or unisex such as Reese. Love and Hartley as siblings...it's very different.

Is it pronounced “luv”, like the word, or “loo-veh” as in the Swedish form of Louis? If it’s the first, that’s just naff. If it’s the second, then it’s alright.
