I love it, and there are some very interesting famous Erasmuses (Erasmi?) in history.

I love it! It's grand but cuddly.
Obviously it's a name first but to european ears this is just a word meaning "semester abroad".
I Love or like a great many -us names. In fact -us is very likely my favorite male suffix in a name to be had. I don't really care for this one though. It kind of makes me think of an evil, elderly warlock with a rat face & a raspy voice luring children to eat into his cave in a long lored tale of stranger danger. Good for a character but not for an actual walking talking person imo. No offense of course.
